About me
As far back as I can remember art has been part of my
life. From early childhood art contests with my brother, to studying fine arts at the
University of Toronto.
I was born in a small town on the Adriatic coast,
Dalmatia. After moving to Brampton, Canada, I started the necessary development in art
through the guidance of my father, a talented artist in his own right. Upon graduating from
the university in 1999, my art career expanded, as I was fortunate enough to apprentice under
two world class fresco painters. Through them I was able to learn many old techniques in
working and manipulating acrylic pigment. You may sample some of my byzantine iconography
projects by going to my blog.
When I am not working on murals I’m a predominately an
oil on linen type of an artist. Some of my earlier work really involved a lot of tedious
details; however for the last couple of years I have become more concerned with capturing the
mood of a scene. Although my work is still very much rooted in realism, I try to put down as
few strokes as possible and still be able to deliver my message.
I have been involed with such organizations as “Ducks
unlimited Canada” and “The Group of Twelve”
I live in Toronto Canada where I also have my
studio.
