About

As far back as I can remember art has been part of my life. From early childhood art contests with my brother, to studying fine arts at the University of Toronto.

Born in a small town on the Adriatic coast, Dalmatia, the second of three children. After moving to Brampton, Canada, I started the necessary development in art through the guidance of my father, a talented artist in his own right. Upon graduating from the university in 1999, my art career expanded, as I was fortunate enough to apprentice under two world class fresco painters. Through them I was able to learn many old techniques in working and manipulating acrylic pigment. To date I have worked on three different churches, painting domes and alters, some as big as 1500 square feet.

If there is a disadvantage to all this work, it is that I haven't had as much time to paint and reflect the passion that nature holds. However, for the last couple of years I have been focusing on painting wildlife/landscape with my unique style and attention to detail. I look forward to new opportunities in creating and sharing my art.

I paint primarily with acrylics, although I have had experience with oil, gauche, and egg tempera. I find that the fast drying properties of acrylics lends well to my style, as it is not uncommon to have 50 or so glazes applied to a piece before I deem it finished. My detail oriented style, has won me an award as "Sharing nature's offerings" was chosen as portfolio artwork of the year by Ducks Unlimited Canada. Through that experience I was able to meet some interesting people, and participate for the cause of wetlands conservation.

I am constantly working and, like every other artist, feel that my next piece is going to be the best work yet.

At the begining of 2009, I was selected as one of the members of The Group of Twelve! For more information on The Group of Twelve, please visit their website at www.thegroupoftwelve.com.
